The Constitution

Constitution (extract)

The original constitution was approved by the Charity Commissioners and entered in the Central Register in May 1993 at that time the registered Charity name was Gobowen Youth Steering Group (Gobowen Youth Forum).

Since this time SILO has achieved much and its objects expanded to encompass the wider community. A new constitution was adopted on 16th June 2003

 The Charity’s objects (“the objects”) are

(a)        to help educate children and young people primarily but not exclusively through their leisure-time activities so to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities that they may grow to their full maturity as individuals and members of society and that their conditions of life may be improved and

(b)        to provide facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Gobowen and its immediate environs without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, nationality, race or political, religious or other opinions with the object of improving the conditions of life of the said inhabitants.
